This Privacy Policy explains how Axleno LLC ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Hanuq application ("App") on iPhone, iPad, macOS, or any other supported platform, as well as our website at hanuq.app ("Website").
By using Hanuq, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
a) Account Information
When you create an account using Apple Sign-In or another authentication method we make available, we receive your account identifier and, if shared by the provider or entered by you, your name, email address, display name, nickname, and profile information.
b) Device and Session Data
We collect technical data needed to operate the service, such as app version, operating system version, device model, device-level identifiers used for sign-in security, session tokens, and push notification tokens when you enable notifications.
c) Product Interaction and Settings
We collect information about how you use Hanuq, including launches, tabs and features used, sessions completed, streaks, usage statistics, reminder settings, saved preferences, and synced tinnitus settings such as frequency and masking type.
d) Social and User-Generated Content
If you use rooms, messages, profiles, shared-listening invites, blocking, or reporting features, we store the related profile fields, room membership, message content, invite and session status, moderation reports, and safety actions needed to operate and protect the community.
e) Purchase and Entitlement Data
We store subscription or purchase entitlement details, such as your plan, product identifier, and entitlement status, so premium access can be restored across your devices. Payment card details are processed by Apple, not by us.
f) First-Party Campaign Attribution
If you visit our Website through a campaign or partner link, we may store limited first-party attribution data such as source, medium, campaign, creative label, landing page, referrer, supported ad click identifiers, and App Store download-click events. We use this to measure which marketing channels lead to visits, downloads, signups, and purchases. We do not use this data to build third-party advertising profiles.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not use third-party advertising SDKs, ad measurement SDKs, or cross-app tracking.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not collect precise device location or GPS data. If you choose to enter a profile location, we store that profile text. We do not collect your contacts, photos, or calendar data.
- We do not request, record, store, or transmit microphone audio.
- We do not receive or store your Apple Music password, payment details, or full Apple Music library.
- We do not build advertising profiles or use your data for targeted advertising.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Service Operation: To authenticate your account, sync settings, restore purchases, and deliver core app functionality.
- Safety and Moderation: To operate rooms and messages, review reports, enforce our Terms, and reduce abuse.
- Analytics and Improvement: To understand feature usage, diagnose issues, and improve stability and product quality.
- Marketing Measurement: To measure first-party campaign performance, calculate acquisition costs, and understand which public campaigns or partner links are effective.
- Personalization: To remember your preferences, recent activity, and account-level settings across supported devices.
- Support and Service Notices: To respond to support requests and send critical account or service notifications.
4. Third-Party Services
Hanuq works with a limited set of service providers that help us operate the app. These providers process data only as needed for their role.
- Apple Sign-In: Used for authentication on Apple platforms. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Apple Music: Optional shared listening in 1:1 messages. Apple handles authorization and audio playback; Hanuq stores only the session state needed to show invites, join status, and synchronized controls.
- Google Sign-In: Used only on platforms or releases where Google sign-in is offered. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Apple App Store: Processes in-app purchases and subscriptions. We do not receive your payment card details.
- Infrastructure and safety providers: We may use trusted hosting, delivery, and moderation providers to run the service and help keep user-generated content safe.
We do not share your data with third parties for advertising.
5. Data Storage and Security
Server Infrastructure. Account, entitlement, profile, rooms, messages, moderation, and settings data are stored on secure servers. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS.
On-Device Storage. Sensitive credentials are stored in platform secure storage such as Keychain where available.
Data Minimization. We collect and retain the minimum information needed to provide the service, secure accounts, support purchases, and operate community safety features.
We use commercially reasonable security measures, including encryption, access controls, and operational monitoring. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain account data while your account is active. You can request deletion in the app. When you do:
- Your account is deactivated immediately and signed out across devices.
- Personal data we are not required to keep is deleted from active systems within 30 days.
- Some legally required records, such as transaction records, may be retained for the period required by law.
- Irreversible, aggregated usage reporting that cannot identify you may be retained for analytics.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Regardless of where you reside, we extend the following rights to all users:
- Right to Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Deletion: You may request that we delete your account and all associated personal data.
- Right to Rectification: You may update or correct your information within the App or by contacting us.
- Right to Data Portability: You may request your data in a standard, machine-readable format.
- Right to Object: You may object to certain types of data processing.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
For European Users (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our lawful bases for processing are: contractual necessity (to provide the service), legitimate interest (to improve the App), and consent (where applicable). You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
For California Users (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us using the information below.

8. Children's Privacy
Hanuq is not designed for or directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will promptly delete it. This policy complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Users between 13 and 17 may use Hanuq with parental or guardian consent as applicable by local law.
9. Cookies and Tracking
Our Website uses minimal browser storage required for basic functionality and first-party campaign attribution, such as a random visitor/session identifier and the campaign link that brought you to the Website. We do not use third-party tracking cookies, third-party analytics cookies, or advertising cookies. The App itself does not use cookies.
10. Push Notifications
We may send push notifications for important updates or features. These are only sent with your explicit consent through your device's permission system. You may disable notifications at any time through your device settings.
11. International Data Transfers
Our servers are located in the European Union. If you access the App from outside the EU, your data may be transferred to and processed in the EU. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international data transfers in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and notify you through an in-app notification or App update. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. If you do not agree to any changes, please discontinue use of the App and request account deletion.
